According to  B.C. Holtzclaw, Ancestry and Descendants of the Nassau-Siegen Immigrants to Virginia 1714-1750 (Harrisonburg, Virginia: The Germanna Foundation, 1964), p. 234:

"Chun vor der Hardt, called after his death Chun Flenderer (Flender), was born about 1520/25, and died at the Hardt 1562/3. He married prior to 1547 Gela, daughter of Tillman Latsch, an ironworker, who in 1547 was lessee of the estate of Gosenbach in the south of Nassau-Siegen. Gala, 'widow of Chon Flendener, decd.,' bought part of the Engsbach Hauberg in the township of Weidenau in 1573, and was still living at the Hardt in 1583, but died some time afterwards.

"Jacob Flender, a posthumous child [of Chun vor der Hardt], b. 1563, lived at the Hardt and was one of the foremost ironmasters of his day."
